USO PTA Delivers a Special Operation Birthday Cake
USO in Hawaii offers a unique program that allows families to celebrate their service members birthday’s from an ocean away. USO PTA had the honor of delivering a very special birthday cake with a surprise! There is an old idiom “You can’t escape the long arm of the law.” Well, there is one that is even longer; the long arms of your family. SPC Wright’s mother reached out to USO Hawaii staff to help deliver an Operation Birthday Cake to her only daughter. However, she found out that she would be out in the field and thought this wouldn’t be possible. USO staff found her and with the help of 125 fellow Soldiers, ensured that she had a birthday to remember. What made it even more special was the surprise that we were able to have mom on Facetime watching us sing her Happy Birthday!
