Interested in Volunteering?

USO Hawaii relies on our outstanding volunteers to help us fulfill our mission of keeping our Service Members connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to our nation. Volunteers are essential in maintaining a welcoming environment within our centers, and executing the best programming possible throughout the island.

Duties include:

Center: monitoring the front desk to insure all visitors sign in and have a valid ID card, answering the phone, replenishing the snack bar, serving up a fresh batch of chili and rice, brewing a fresh pot of coffee, maintaining the cleanliness of the center, and assisting all visitors. The USO centers and volunteers are the life blood for the troops and their families, we provide a safe comfortable place to rest, relax and communicate with family, friends, and commands before or after a long journey.

Special events: Throughout the year we hold many special events to support our military community. Such events include; Free Military Day at Sea Life Park, Free Military Day at Wet’n’Wild, Special Delivery, Six Star Service Salute, and more. Assistance varies by event, but can include event set-up/tear down, planning and execution.

Administrative support: Working in our offices assisting with a variety of tasks that may include record-keeping, answering phones, organization and other projects as needed.

Homecomings and deployments: USO Hawaii is there to support our local troops when they leave and when they come home. Our volunteers help distribute care packages, food, snacks, and drinks during those movements.

Nothing is more valuable than your time. If you would like to donate that time to USO Hawaii then please join us by taking the next step and signing up at www.volunteers.uso.org. After your registration is completed and verified, our staff will contact you with additional information.
