Interested in Volunteering?

USO Hawaii relies on our outstanding volunteers to help us fulfill our mission of keeping our Service Members connected to family, home, and country throughout their service to our nation. Our amazing volunteers make it possible for us to create a welcoming environment within our centers, and provide the best programming possible throughout the island.

Duties include:

Center: Volunteers are essential to keeping our centers open and running smoothly. Center representatives may be responsible for monitoring the front desk to insure all visitors sign in and have a valid ID card, answering the phone, replenishing the snack bar, brewing a fresh pot of coffee, maintaining the cleanliness of the center, and assisting all visitors.

Special events: Throughout the year we hold many special events to support our military community. Island-wide events include: Free Military Day at local attractions, Special Delivery, Six Star Service Salute Gala, and more. Volunteer event support can include set-up/tear down, planning and execution, and handing out refreshments and information at the USO table.

Administrative support: Working in our offices to assist with a variety of tasks that may include media/technology support, record-keeping, organization and other projects as needed.

Homecomings and deployments: USO Hawaii is there to support our local troops when they leave and when they come home. Our volunteers help distribute care packages, food, snacks, and drinks during those movements.

It’s an incredibly rewarding experience to serve those who serve. If you’d like to be a part of USO Hawaii then please visit volunteers.uso.org to create your volunteer account. After your registration is completed and verified, our staff will contact you with additional information.
