Pearl Harbor Welcomes Another USS Missouri

When the USS Missouri completed it’s change of port on January 26, 2018 it was a unique moment for the U.S. Navy. The Virginia class fast attack submarine entered Pearl Harbor passing right by the famous USS Missouri battleship (retired). The Missouri will join Submarine Squadron One as the 6th Virginia class fast attack sub at Pearl Harbor.

Families waited anxiously for the sub’s arrival, and understandably so. Every PCS (permanent change of station) comes with its own set of challenges. But when families move while their sailor makes the trip on their sub, you can imagine how much more difficult it can be. USO JBPHH was honored to support the sub’s homecoming ceremony and be a part of this joyous occasion.
