USO Hawaii Volunteer of the Second Quarter - Olivia Collar
We are thrilled to announce that Olivia Collar has been selected as USO Hawai'i’s Volunteer of the Quarter for Q2 2025!
Olivia began her journey with the USO in January 2025 at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii. Over four short months, she has dedicated 101.5 hours to engaging with center patrons, staff, and the community. Olivia has volunteered at three unit support events and four center events, where she shared her experiences as a USO volunteer, informed attendees about available resources, and assisted staff with setting up and breaking down tables, chairs, food, and decorations. Additionally, Olivia has attended USO Transition workshops, which has allowed her to connect with the USO on a deeper level. She uses this knowledge to inform others about the benefits of the USO programs and resources. Olivia has proven to be a reliable volunteer, filling in for several high-priority shifts that need volunteer coverage. The staff can always count on Olivia to bring her excellent customer service skills to the center when needed.
Olivia consistently maintains a positive attitude as a center representative. She engages with patrons throughout the day, ensuring they have what they need, answering questions about USO programs, and keeping the center well-stocked, clean, and prepared.
While serving our service members and their families at the USO, Olivia is also pursuing her master’s degree in health administration. While scheduled classes and deadlines may pose as an obstacle for many, Olivia makes the best of it dedicating her time to volunteering and school. She has found that volunteering has been a great opportunity to make new connections on base, ease her transition into military spouse life and receive invaluable support from our community.
Olivia, your commitment and drive to support our community through our USO mission is honorable and exceptional and we can’t thank you enough for your hard work each and every day! We are so proud to have such an incredible individual on our team that puts her best foot forward with every step that she takes. Congratulations Olivia on being named USO Hawai’i’s Volunteer of the Quarter!
If you are inspired by Olivia’s story and would like to make a difference, please consider signing up to volunteer at volunteer.uso.org. Together, we can continue to support our service members and their families in meaningful ways.
